Moraine Lake
Banff National Park, Alberta
A new day awakens at Moraine Lake, located in the Valley Of The Ten Peaks in Banff National Park, Alberta. It is such a sight to behold that to truly do it justice I had been photographing it for four years before finally getting a result I was genuinely satisfied with. Is this the most beautiful scene in the Canadian Rockies? I think so.
I used my old Linhof panoramic film camera for this image. This camera has no electronic parts and no batteries. A seperate light meter is needed to measure the light. Using Fuji Velvia slide film, I needed to make use of a neutral density graduated filter placed diagonally across the frame in order to balance the contrast between the light and shade areas.
