Sunwapta Falls

Sunwapta Falls - Panoramic Vertical Images
Limited edition of 50 prints in sizes of 30" and above.

"This is upper Sunwapta Falls, one of two waterfalls by that name on the Sunwapta River in Jasper National Park, Alberta. The waterfall certainly lives up to its name, which is a native word meaning 'turbulent waters'. This image was taken in late summer when the water volume is not at its largest. The turquoise colour of the water comes from the glacial silt suspended within it, in this case from the Athabasca glacier. A four second exposure gives the water a misty, ethereal feel."
